Karen Burkett

BAH, BEd, MEd, PhD, ABD

Karen has worked in English language education since teaching in Japan in the late 1990s and has served as Director of the Queen’s School of English since 2019. A PhD candidate in Educational Leadership, she contributes nationally as a Board member of Languages Canada and fosters community and inclusion here at Queen’s through her roles on various committees and as a mentor, author and presenter. She is an international educator at heart, and creating a community of belonging amongst diverse individuals drives her work as a leader.
