Have an undergraduate degree?
Earn a Bachelor of Education (BEd) at Queen's University as your second degree. You can become a certified teacher in 16 months starting this May with one of our many specialized program tracks and concentrations. Please note the Technological Education Multi-Session Program (TEMS) is 24 months long.
Consecutive Education
Choose to concentrate in Assessment & Evaluation, At-Risk Children, International Education, Educational Leadership, Educational Technology, Social Justice Education, and more. Or you can choose one of our program tracks described below.
Indigenous Teacher Education Program (Community-Based)
Technological Education
Technological Education Program prepares applicants with wage-earning experience including business or industrial experience in a broad-based technology area to teach grades 9-12. There are two different formats: Technological Education On-Campus and Technological Education Multi-Session Program.
Have a high school diploma or equivalent?
Earn two degrees or a Bachelor of Education (BEd) at Queen's University and become a certified teacher.
Concurrent Education
Complete two degrees at the same time: Bachelor of Education and Bachelor of Arts, Fine Art, Music or Science with this 5 year + 1 semester program. Most other universities only offer a six-year program, we built our program so that you can complete your education sooner and begin your teaching career earlier.
Indigenous Teacher Education Program (Community-Based)
If you are of Indigenous Ancestry, you can enter this program with grade 12 or equivalent. The Community-based Program provides an opportunity to specialize in Indigenous education and attend classes at Queen's University for one summer session and in Manitoulin Island, Lambton-Kent, or Mushkegowuk Territory for the remainder of the program.

Earn a Bachelor of Education (BEd) or Diploma in Education (DipEd) at Queen's University and become a certified teacher.
Technological Education On-Campus
Technological Education Program (TechEd) prepares applicants with wage-earning experience including business or industrial experience in a broad-based technology area to teach grades 9-12. You can become a certified teacher in 16 months starting this May.
Technological Education Multi-Session Program
The Technological Education Multi-Session Program (TEMS) provides the opportunity for skilled tradespeople to earn a BEd or DipEd in a blended format both on and off-campus. The program is designed to allow teacher candidates to continue working during the program.

Our On-Campus Indigenous Teacher Education Program (ITEP) provides an opportunity for teacher candidates to specialize in Indigenous education through Indigenous-specific programming, application of Indigenous perspectives and world view to theory and practice
Community-Based Indigenous Teacher Education Program
