The Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) is a law that requires Ontario to make its public spaces accessible - including our websites and documents.

The MarComm team spends time making sure that documents and website updates are accessible. Want to learn more about accessibility - including digital accessibility?

Accessibility on our Website

Have an event coming up? We can help spread the word! Send us an image (the less words the better) for promotion. Just a heads-up -- please avoid QR codes, as they're not ideal for digital sharing. Send the information to both educcomm@queensu.ca and educationnewsletter@queensu.ca to make sure it gets promoted in our newsletter and on our event calendar website.

Let us know if you would also like your event to be promoted:

Want a headshot? Have an event you would like photographed? Are you looking for a specific kind of image for a document? educcomm@queensu.ca can help. We are limited in staffing, and can't guarantee our ability to take photos at all events.

Have a story you want to tell? Send an email and we can help you figure out the best way to communicate your story. educcomm@queensu.ca.

We have a limited amount of swag available. We can also help you order your own swag - and make sure it meets branding standards. Email educcomm@queensu.ca

Communication Channels

We have four major communication channels at the Faculty of Education. If you aren't sure how to get your message out, email educcomm@queensu.ca for help.

Welcome to 1997! While our ListServ technology isn't up-to-date, it works to send out basic emails to large and defined groups of people. We use it as an internal communication tool - with many different lists for different faculty, instructor, student, and staff groups. We try to limit most communications to our weekly newsletter and avoid using the listservs.

Weekly Newsletters:

  • Faculty and Staff: Sent out weekly on Tuesday afternoons. The newsletter is compiled by ConEd student Charlee Wells Malette. Submit content through our online form or by sending to educationnewsletter@queensu.ca.
  • On-Campus Graduate Students: Sent out weekly on Tuesday afternoons. The newsletter is compiled by Charlee Wells Malette. Submit content through our online form or by sending to educationnewsletter@queensu.ca.
  • BEd students:
    • News and Events: distributed weekly on Tuesday afternoons when they are on an on-campus block. You can find out when they are on campus on the Academic Calendar.  Submit content through our online form or by sending to educationnewsletter@queensu.ca.
    • Career Buzz: distributed weekly to current teacher candidates and alumni who have completed the program within the past two years.  It contains notifications of upcoming career workshops, domestic and international job postings, and job search tips. Submit content to ed.careers@queensu.ca.

Monthly Newsletters:

  • ConEds: Sent out monthly – usually at the end of the month. Holly Robinson curates the content – submit anything you may have to her. holly.robinson@queensu.ca
  • Multi-Session Students: sent out monthly. Faleshia Finn curates the content - submit items  to f.finn@queensu.ca
  • Online Grad Students: Sent out monthly – usually at the end of the month. gradcoordinator@queensu.ca

Quarterly Newsletters:

  • Alumni: We have a quarterly email that is sent out to our alumni. Email edalumni@queensu.ca to submit an item.

The Faculty of Education website is run by the MarComm team. Have an update or change? Email educcomm@queensu.ca.

The Faculty actively posts content on Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, and BlueSky. We also have a YouTube account to upload videos.

The Faculty of Education has an Event Calendar webpage that shows upcoming events at the Faculty of Education.

The event calendar is a part of our website template and is not perfect. We are hoping to get access to a new platform as part of the central services initiative around Marketing Cloud but do not have a date for when that might happen at the moment.

Contact educcomm@queensu.ca if you have an event you would like to add to the event calendar.

Our monthly-ish podcast audience is teachers (and teacher candidates) in the classroom. We try to provide a quick 20-30 minute podcast about an idea, project, or research that is happening that might be helpful!
