We have two Primary-Junior French as a Second Language programs - one is full-time on campus, and is considered a program track, and one is a blended program that is designed to allow people currently working in schools to continue working during the program.

Location | All classes take place at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. The practicum blocks take place in schools within the designated catchment area, which includes 26 boards spanning from Burlington to Cornwall. You will complete a practicum registration where you select four different potential school boards for placement. | Classes take place online and in blended format at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario (4 weekends per term over 5 terms) plus two 4-week July sessions. |
Practicum | 21 weeks total – at least 3 of which are completed in French (Immersion, Extended, or Core) with 3 weeks of an Alternative Practicum. | 18 weeks of practicum – at least 3 of which are completed in French (Immersion, Extended, or Core) with 3 weeks of an Alternative Practicum. |
Both Programs:
- Have the same admission requirements
- Will have at least 3 weeks of practicum in French (Immersion, Extended, or Core)
- Graduates will be eligible for OCT certification
