ACE graduate Portia Chapman (B.Ed.’20) was commissioned by the Arts & Science Undergraduate Society (ASUS) to create a brand new mural.

The piece was unveiled during a ceremony and artist talk coordinated by ASUS. Chapman spoke about her experience as a teacher during the pandemic and the ways that arts education helped her students during virtual lessons.

After finishing with virtual teaching, Chapman accepted several art commissions, including the mural titled “My Creation.”

“My Creation” now hangs in the Kingston Hall Reflection Room and is part of an ongoing effort to revitalize the space as an area for reflection that highlights indigenization.
