On behalf of the Faculty of Education, applications are invited for Teaching Assistantships for the following Education courses. These positions are conditional upon course enrolment numbers. Teaching Assistants are expected to be in person for the scheduled class time unless otherwise specified.

FOUN 101, Foundations of Assessment, 2 positions @ 60 hours each
FOUN 102, Historical and Philosophical Foundations, 5 positions @ 60 hours each

Job Requirements: Teaching Assistant – Bachelor of Education Courses
Teaching Assistants play a key role in supporting the quality of Bachelor of Education courses by encouraging and supporting teacher candidate learning.
Responsibilities may include:
- Attending classes and assisting with instruction
- Supporting the instructor with course tasks, both during and outside of class
- Preparing materials and evaluating assignments
- Responding to student inquiries and meeting with students
- Participating in course planning before the term begins, as required
Requirements:
- Must be a current graduate student at Queen’s University
- Availability outside standard 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. hours may be required
- Previous teaching experience is an asset
Teaching Assistants are expected to be in person unless otherwise specified.
Application Process
The process of assigning qualified graduate students to these positions is outlined in the Collective Agreement between the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) and Queen’s University. Applications will be reviewed and positions allocated in reference to candidates’ teaching and academic experience as it applies to the course subject field and in reference to the candidates’ priority for a Teaching Assistantship as specified by the Collective Agreement.
