This presentation will explore the history and ongoing impacts of colonial schooling through a close examination of the Curve Lake Indian Day School. Jackson will read from his new book, Students by Day: Colonialism and Resistance at the Curve Lake Indian Day School, highlighting how students and community members navigated and resisted everyday forms of colonial control. The talk will also reflect on what these histories mean for educators and classrooms today.
