Tenure-Track - Christine Doe
Christine Doe is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Education, Mount Saint Vincent University, Halifax, Canada. Her research examines the validity of language tests for multiple purposes as well as language use across different contexts, such as higher education and workplace settings. She was the lead researcher for a National evaluation project with the Government of Belize developing second language acquisition teaching strategies for Elementary and Junior level teachers. Dr. Doe has published articles in Language Assessment Quarterly, English for Academic Purposes, and System, as well as presented at international and national conferences. She teaches graduate and undergraduate courses focused on Teaching English as an Additional language and Assessment in K-12 and adult language learning settings.

Administrator - Christopher DeLuca
Christopher DeLuca (PhD, Queen’s University) is an Associate Dean at the School of Graduate Studies and Postdoctoral Affairs and Professor in Educational Assessment at the Faculty of Education, Queen’s University. After completing his doctorate, Chris began his career as an Assistant Professor at the University of South Florida. Chris’ research examines the complex intersection of assessment, curriculum, and pedagogy as operating within the current context of school accountability and standards-based education.

Post-Doctoral Fellow - Amir Rasooli
Amir Rasooli is an assistant lecturer and Killam Postdoctoral Fellow at the Faculty of Education, University of Alberta. Through his research on fairness, justice, and equity in assessment and education, he aims to promote the capacity for fairer practices within K-12 and higher education contexts.

Applied Research & Innovation - Peter Bowers
Peter Bowers, PhD, is a researcher, author, educator and founder of WordWorks Literacy Centre. His vocabulary intervention (Bowers & Kirby, 2010) introduced the phrase ‘structured word inquiry’. That study with gr 4/5 students found generative vocabulary learning for the SWI condition over controls. He has published widely on SWI and the effects of morphology instruction. Counter to common hypotheses, younger and less able students gain the most from including morphology in literacy instruction. His main focus remains practical work with teachers and students to build understanding, and thus motivation to study the logical way English orthography has evolved to represent the meaning, history and phonology of English words.

Principal - Deborah Thompson
Deborah Thompson is a Queen's and Western graduate who works as an elementary school principal in eastern Ontario. She is also an adjunct professor at Queen's University. Deborah's main interest is leadership development in all areas of an organization.

Ministry/Evaluator - Chi Yan Lam
Dr. Chi Yan Lam, CE, is an evaluation scholar, commissioner, practitioner, and instructor. As Team Lead, Evaluation at the Ontario Anti-Racism Directorate, he leads a team of policy and evaluation professionals to combat racism and reduce racial inequities across government programs, policies, and services through research and evaluation. He has directed over $500,000+ worth of evaluation studies and advised on over $1.5M worth of procured research/evaluation services. He instructs in the Assessment and Evaluation stream of the PME/GDE programs.
