Upon grad in '77, I headed to Faro, a mining town in the Yukon where I taught PE for grades K-12, and sciences for Gr. 8, 11 and 12. I then moved to Watson Lake, Yukon and taught grades 4-7. While there my assignments included being a classroom teacher, PE teacher, councillor, vice principal, educational assistant after retirement and now bus driver for field trips.

Highlights...organizing many sports activities, a trip to Florida for the launching of the space shuttle, hiking the Chikoot trail (start in Alaska thru B.C. and into the Yukon) with the grade sevens for a number of years, organizing the shop program for our grade sevens and having an experiential education class where our longest trip was 10 days and we took part in a dig in Drumheller, AB.

If you want to teach...THIS IS THE PLACE TO BE...so many things to get involved in...even starting a band with all instruments.

Favourite teacher...Mr. D...no...just kidding

If you are looking for a teaching job I might just be able to find you one in the Yukon...THE YUKON...NORTH OF ORDINARY!
