Rose Heron recently retired after an amazing 33-year career in education. She began her teaching journey at Niagara College, where she taught Economics before joining the Niagara Catholic District School Board in 1993. Over the next two decades, Rose worked as a teacher, guidance counsellor, and coach, making a lasting impact on students both in and out of the classroom. Her passion for student success extended to coaching multiple sports, earning numerous provincial titles. In 2023, Rose transitioned to higher education as the Associate Director of Domestic Recruitment at the University of Niagara Falls Canada, where she played a key role in building relationships and promoting the university’s vision. A truly full-circle moment came when she delivered a sponsor's address at the Ontario School Counsellors' Association (OSCA) Conference in 2024, speaking to over 400 guidance counsellors as a representative of UNF. Rose is happily married to Gary for 23 years and is the proud mother of two children: Daniel, 21, who continues the family tradition at Queen’s University in his fourth year of Engineering, and Sophia, 17. Grateful for the journey, Rose treasures the many meaningful connections she’s made along the way.
