What was your focus?
During my Alt Prac, my main jobs were to: 1) prepare and facilitate my own collage workshop within the Queering Collage series, a partnership between QCC and the Agnes Etherington Art Centre, and 2) organise data from previous events into zines and documents to help in future planning.
How did you find this placement?
I had worked with Alyssa Vernon before in many settings, such as at BGC Southeast in their Youth Program
Is there a moment that stands out from your alternative practicum?
Being able to connect my Irish heritage to my developing pedagogy.
Did anything surprise you during your placement?
How seamless history and art education work together, and how powerful they are!
