Many educators are familiar with the website Native-Land.ca. It launched in 2015, focusing primarily on Canada and then North America. The searchable map showed Indigenous territories, treaties and languages.
The site has recently been transformed, de-emphasizing static territorial borders and focusing instead on relationships, connection and presence. The updated resource has a global focus, and includes new maps and resources:
- Constellation Map—shows the relational networks and interconnections that link Indigenous nations
- Placenames Map—identifies placenames from Indigenous nations from around the world
- Reciprocity Map—highlights Indigenous-led projects, reclamation efforts, restoration and challenges worldwide
- Native Land Digital Teacher’s Guide 2025—offers tools for exploring Indigenous worldviews; includes interactive activities for K–12 classrooms
