CONT862: Special Education Part 2
Special Education Part 2 builds on the learning in Special Education Part 1. This course moves beyond guiding classroom teachers as they provide universal support for students with disabilities to targeted and direct instruction for teachers to address specific skill deficits in students with diverse learning needs. Both typical and atypical development in the areas of oral language, reading, writing, math, and mental health conditions will be examined. Evidence-based practices that are the foundation for developing quality intervention programs, will be explored. You’ll also prepare targeted intervention plans for students in your school. Reflection, collaboration, discussion, and research will all be elements of this learning journey.
