CONT770: Intermediate English
This course focuses on current pedagogical approaches for supporting learners in Grades 7-10, aligning with the 2023 Language Curriculum and incorporating Science of Reading and evidence-based practices to foster stable, safe and engaging learning environments where equity, diversity and inclusion are central to all practices. You will delve into ethical standards, evolving curricular expectations and fair, bias-free assessment strategies. You will also explore the integral role of technology, emphasizing effective online delivery, assessment and crucial considerations for online safety and privacy. A significant and timely component of this course is the responsibility of educators to decolonize and Indigenize content, ensuring programming is culturally relevant and responsive to the identities of all learners.
