What You Will Learn and Do

In this course, you’ll have the opportunity to

  • explore the role of the teacher librarian and how to integrate technology into the library learning commons (LLC)
  • weave Indigenous perspectives into technology enhanced learning initiatives in the LLC to honour Indigenous ways of knowing, being and doing
  • align your district’s technology policies with BC’s digital literacy framework and select digital tools to meet the needs of your school, promote digital citizenship and support the design of technology-integrated lesson plans that enhance student learning
  • implement practical strategies for integrating immersive technologies like augmented reality and virtual reality, gamification and digital escape rooms to deepen learning, enhance student access points and promote digital fluency
  • examine shared leadership, stakeholder engagement and effective communication strategies to foster strong partnerships, support teaching and learning, and help transform the LLC into a vibrant hub for school-wide growth and innovation
  • learn how to ethically and effectively support AI use to enhance engagement, efficiency and accessibility for staff and students
  • incorporate universal design for learning principles with AI and accessibility tools, leveraging platforms like Google and Microsoft to create an inclusive LLC
