What does it mean to be a mathematics leader? How do teachers inspire others, support strong instruction, and help all students feel confident and capable in mathematics?

This course explores what it means to be a mathematics leader, beyond titles or roles. You’ll learn ways to inspire colleagues, strengthen instruction, and build classrooms where all students feel confident and capable in mathematics. You will explore leadership as a mindset grounded in collaboration, listening, and shared learning. Through readings, podcasts, and videos, you’ll reflect on your identity as a leader, deepen your understanding of equity and inclusion, and examine how assessment, numeracy, technology, and collaboration influence teacher and student learning. You will also engage in leadership practices, contribute to collective knowledge, and develop a digital portfolio that captures your growth. You’ll leave with a clearer vision of yourself as a mathematics instructional leader and practical ways to positively have an impact on your school community.
