CONT928: Level B Assessment: Advanced Application
CONT911 must be taken prior to CONT928.
This course builds on learning from CONT 911 Level B Assessment: Foundational Principles. You’ll strengthen your assessment skills through data interpretation, hypothesis testing, and exploring new assessment tools. The focus is on working with exceptional student populations and situations where more in-depth referrals, testing, strategies, recommendations, and services are required.
Learning will be integrated into practice through
- presentations to students, parents or guardians, and school-based teams (SBTs)
- developing recommendations and strategies based on detailed data analysis
- completion of two full assessments demonstrating the integration of advanced concepts
The course provides an ideal platform for collegial sharing of resources, tips, and techniques. It’s an opportunity to connect with colleagues across British Columbia.
In addition to the prerequisite course, successful completion of this course will qualify you to administer Level B assessments in K–12 schools in BC. However, it will be up to your district student services team to decide who and how assessments can be performed in your designated school(s).
