In honour of World Literacy Day (September 8) the Queen’s Gazette interviewed our own Dr. Pamela Beach about the Ontario Human Rights Commission Right to Read Report. The Right to Read Inquiry Report highlights changes that need to be made to Ontario’s public education system to better support students with dyslexia.
The interview focuses on some of the big takeaways from the report and also explores Pamela Beach’s research into how elementary teachers learn about literacy and reading instruction.
Beach leads the Literacy Education Research Team and is currently researching alternative approaches to early years education from an international perspective.
