The 2024 Pride Parade was a fabulous success - with our biggest turnout ever!
Our own Dr. Lee Airton was the Parade Marshal. In their speech to kick off the parade, Lee called for active solidarity in a time of increasing backlash against transgender children, youth, and adults' presence in K-12 schools.
Lee invited the Faculty of Education teacher candidates and GSA members to march at the front of the parade, along with educators from the Limestone District School Board, the Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board, and members of TransFamily Kingston.
A big thank you to the Education Student Society - particularly Lizzie Bomford - who helped make sure the event was well attended by our community and that everyone was full and hydrated.
