Job Requirements: Teaching Assistant – Bachelor of Education Courses
Teaching Assistants play a key role in supporting the quality of Bachelor of Education courses by encouraging and supporting teacher candidate learning.
Responsibilities may include:
- Attending classes and assisting with instruction
- Supporting the instructor with course tasks, both during and outside of class
- Preparing materials and evaluating assignments
- Responding to student inquiries and meeting with students
- Participating in course planning before the term begins, as required
Requirements:
- Must be a current graduate student at Queen’s University
- Availability outside standard 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. hours may be required
- Previous teaching experience is an asset

Job Requirements: Teaching Assistant – GDE and PME
Teaching Assistants play a key role in supporting online, instructor-led GDE and PME courses by facilitating communication and providing timely, constructive feedback to students in a fully online environment.
Responsibilities may include:
- Monitoring and facilitating online discussion boards
- Assessing and evaluating assignments based on course guidelines
- Responding to student inquiries in a timely manner
Requirements:
Must be a current PhD student at Queen’s University
Availability outside standard 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. hours may be required
Previous teaching experience is an asset

The process of assigning qualified graduate students to these positions is outlined in the Collective Agreement between the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) and Queen’s University. Applications will be reviewed and positions allocated in reference to candidates’ teaching and academic experience as it applies to the course subject field and in reference to the candidates’ priority for a Teaching Assistantship as specified by the Collective Agreement.
