Course Description
This course offers a critical study of change management in educational organizations, exploring ideas of transition, restructuring, systemic development, progress, and equity. Participants will consider how to work towards student, institution, and community success and well-being.
Learning Outcomes
The primary learning goals for GDE/PME 861 are to:
- Understand the nature and complexities of change in educational organizations
- Identify human and organizational factors that influence experiences and leadership of change
- Identify frameworks and models for leading change in organizational settings
- Formulate a plan to successfully lead a change process towards organizational and individual success and well-being

This course offers students an overview of the foundational context and background for understanding change processes in organizations. The course readings, learning activities, and assignments help learners develop as leaders and change agents so they can bring about transformation in their respective organizations, K-12 or otherwise.
