The Council of Ontario Universities (COU) recently announced the 2022 winners of the Autism Scholars Award. Queen’s Faculty of Education doctoral student Alexandra Minuk is one of the 2022 recipients.

Minuk’s research looks at barriers to accessing autism spectrum disorder diagnosis. By looking at multiple variables the research will help identify regions in Ontario that need more support and could influence where resources get allocated.

The Autism Scholars Award recognizes transformative research that will positively impact children with autism and their families. Doctoral-level award winners receive a $20,000 prize.

Alexandra Minuk is a part of the Autism and Developmental Disabilities Research Group (Add*Ed) at the Faculty of Education.
