On February 2, 2024 50+ educators, leaders, and experts in technological education gathered at Duncan McArthur Hall to discuss the future of technological education in Ontario.

Ontario Council for Technology Education (OCTE) is a provincial organization that advocates for technology education stakeholders and ensures needs are met at the local, provincial, and national levels. Together with the Technological Education Board Leads (TEBL) of Ontario, they put on a full day symposium including a tour of the Duncan McArthur Hall Tech Lab.

The event marked a homecoming for numerous alumni from the Faculty of Education’s technological education programs.

Professor of Technological Education Ena Holtermann says "The 2024 Technological Education Board Leads Winter Symposium brings together members of our Faculty of Education and the Ontario Council for Technological Education. This event marks a significant gathering of school board leaders in Technological Education across the province, many of whom are alumni of our Technological Education teacher education program. It's an honour to welcome back these accomplished graduates to their alma mater for this conference. This gathering underscores our faculty's commitment to advancing technological education while fostering leadership and innovation in STEM and STEAM education."
