Dr. Don Klinger is quoted in the news on the Education Quality and Accountability Office (EQAO) test results, which show that Ontario elementary students are lagging in math.
The second season of The Prime Radicals, developed by Dr. Lynda Colgan, Director of the Community Outreach Centre, in collaboration with Executive Producer Hoda Elatawi, General Assembly Production Centre (Ottawa), will premiere on TVO on September 5 at 6:30 p.m. The season will include 26 episodes.
A live-action television series with scenarios showing how math is used for everything from clubhouse renovations to cooking, The Prime Radicals makes numbers cool for kids. Based on Colgan's Kingston Whig-Standard newspaper columns, it is also clearly meeting the need for a fresh and innovative approach to math education.

The new program will take effect in September 2015. The biggest change to our existing program is that it will be expanded to four semesters of course work, which will include a minimum of 80 days of classroom teaching experience.
We have been planning for this change since 2011 since former premier Dalton McGuinty made the promise just before the 2011 election campaign, and we will continue to plan to ensure a smooth transition and the best outcomes for our students.
We will continue to post updates on the new program as they become available.
