Ghosted Legacies

In 1918, Queen’s University officially barred black students from enrolling in the Faculty of Medicine. The policy was in effect until 1965 and formally rescinded in 2018. For 100 years, the remarkable legacies of more than 50 black medical alumni who attended in the early part of the 20th Century were forgotten. Queen’s alumnus Edward Thomas presents his research examining the far-reaching consequences to our understanding of Black History at Queen’s.

Date: Tuesday, December 4th
Time: 1:30-3:30 p.m.
Location: A343, Duncan McArthur Hall (west campus)
This event is open to all.
