Have an undergraduate degree?

Earn a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) at Queen's University as your second degree. You can become a certified teacher in 16 months starting this May with one of our many specialized program tracks and concentrations.

Consecutive Education

Choose to concentrate in Assessment & Evaluation, At-Risk Children, International Education, Educational Leadership, Educational Technology, and more. Or you can choose one of our program tracks described below.

Aboriginal Teacher Education Program (Community-Based)

The Community-based Program provides an opportunity to specialize in Aboriginal education and attend classes at Queen's University for one summer session and in Manitoulin Island for the remainder of the program.

Technological Education

Technological Education Program (Tech.Ed.) prepares applicants with wage-earning experience including business or industrial experience in a broad-based technology area to teach grades 9-12.

Program Tracks

Aboriginal Teacher Education Program

The Aboriginal Teacher Education Program (ATEP) provides an opportunity for teacher candidates to specialize in Aboriginal education through Aboriginal-specific programming, application of Aboriginal perspectives and world view to theory and practice.

Artist in Community Education

Artist in Community Education (ACE) is designed for practicing artists in visual art, music, drama and creative writing and explores the positive role that artists and the arts play in our schools, our communities, and our society.

Outdoor & Experiential Education

Outdoor & Experiential Education (OEE) is designed to introduce teacher candidates to a wide variety of ways environmental and experiential programs can be offered in school and community-based settings.


Have a high school diploma or equivalent?

Earn two degrees or a Diploma in Education (Dip.Ed.) at Queen's University and become a certified teacher.

Concurrent Education

Complete two degrees at the same time: Bachelor of Education and Bachelor of Arts, Fine Art, Music or Science with this 5 year + 1 semester program. Most other universities only offer a six-year program, we built our program so that you can complete your education sooner and begin your teaching career earlier.

Aboriginal Teacher Education Program (Community-Based)

If you are of Aboriginal Ancestry, you can enter this program with grade 12 or equivalent. The Community-based Program provides an opportunity to specialize in Aboriginal education and attend classes at Queen's University for one summer session and in Manitoulin Island for the remainder of the program.
