Update 04 October 2012:
In early September 2012, following lengthy consultation between the Ontario Council of Graduate Studies (OCGS) and the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities (MTCU), the MTCU granted universities the authority to manage OGS at the university level.
Students must apply for OGS at EACH Ontario University that they want to be considered by. The universities all have different processes and different deadlines. Awards are not transferable between universities.
The Queen's SGS OGS website for applicants with all the details and procedures for 2013-14 is here: http://www.queensu.ca/sgs/forstudents/funding/ogs.html
The application deadline for those applying for admission to the MEd or PhD in Education program in the Faculty of Education at Queen’s University is 15 January 2013.
Current BEd teacher candidates who are pursuing graduate studies in 2013-14 and applying for funding from Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) must submit their application through the Education Registrar’s Office (A112), even if they are pursuing graduate studies at another university, or at another department within Queen’s.
Teacher Candidates are welcome to attend the following information sessions (as their timetable will allow), offered by the Faculty of Education Graduate Studies and Research Office.
Examples of successful OGS and SSHRC applications by Faculty of Education Graduate Students are available for review through D2L. Please contact yoanna.sayili@queensu.ca in the Graduate Studies and Research Office for access.
Please contact allison.mackey@queensu.ca in the Education Registrar's Office if you have questions about applying.
