Certification
As education in Canada is a provincial responsibility, you must be certified to teach by a particular province’s certification body in order to teach in a publicly-funded school. To acquire certification in another province, as Ontario graduates, you must first be certified in Ontario. Please see our section on certification with the Ontario College of Teachers.
You will need to submit similar documentation that you submitted to the OCT to the certification body in the province or territory in which you wish to be certified. In most provinces you will need to submit a Statement of Standing from your initial certification body. This statement will indicate that you are a teacher “in good standing”, i.e., that your certification to teach has not be suspended or falsified. If you are an OCT certified teacher, then you will need to contact the OCT to issue a statement on your behalf. Please see the OCT web site for more information

Other general job search web sites such as Workopolis may also list teaching vacancies. Also be sure to check the web sites of the Ministry of Education for each province or territory for specific information about teaching in that province or territory.
