Have an undergraduate degree?

Earn a Bachelor of Education (BEd) at Queen's University as your second degree. You can become a certified teacher in 16 months starting this May with one of our many specialized program tracks and concentrations. Please note the Technological Education Multi-Session Program (TEMS) is 24 months long.

Indigenous Teacher Education Program (Community-Based)

The Community-based Program provides an opportunity to specialize in Indigenous education and attend classes at Queen's University for one summer session and in Manitoulin Island, Lambton-Kent, or Mushkegowuk Territory for the remainder of the program.

ITEP Community-Based

Technological Education

Technological Education Program prepares applicants with wage-earning experience including business or industrial experience in a broad-based technology area to teach grades 9-12. There are two different formats: Technological Education On-Campus and Technological Education Multi-Session Program.

The Indigenous Teacher Education Program (ITEP) provides an opportunity for teacher candidates to specialize in Indigenous education through Indigenous-specific programming, application of Indigenous perspectives and world view to theory and practice.

Artist in Community Education (ACE) is designed for practicing artists in visual art, music, drama, dance, film, creative writing, mixed media, and all other art forms, and explores the positive role that artists and the arts play in our schools, our communities, and our society.

Primary-Junior French as a Second Language (PJ FSL) is designed for teacher candidates that are interested in teaching French Immersion.

Have a high school diploma or equivalent?

Earn two degrees or a Bachelor of Education (BEd) at Queen's University and become a certified teacher.

Concurrent Education

Complete two degrees at the same time: Bachelor of Education and Bachelor of Arts, Fine Art, Music or Science with this 5 year + 1 semester program. Most other universities only offer a six-year program, we built our program so that you can complete your education sooner and begin your teaching career earlier.

If you are of Indigenous Ancestry, you can enter this program with grade 12 or equivalent.
