Bringing Together Diverse Scholars and Students Through Curriculum Theorizing

In the past year, Curriculum Theorizing has become a PhD field of study at the Faculty of Education and has drawn graduate students from Canada and abroad. Curriculum Theorizing involves asking questions about teaching and learning across contexts while considering social, historical and contextual facets of curriculum spaces. More recently, the Faculty launched a new research group, the Curriculum Inquiry Research Group (CInRG), for focused studies in curriculum.

Digital Database Puts Music Resources at Educators' Fingertips

Starting this September, music educators from across Canada will be able to find and download the best available digital music resources for free.

The Digital Resource Exchange About Music (DREAM) is an online space created by collaborators at Queen’s University, Concordia University and The Royal Conservatory that can be used in French or English on all devices including computers, tablets and smartphones.

Rena Upitis Receives Additional Funding for Digital Tools in Music Education Project

Dr. Rena Upitis has received an Ontario Research Fund Small Infrastructure Award for her Leaders Opportunity Fund Project, "Digital Tools in Music Education."

This award provides funding for infrastructure and support of a five-year research project investigating current and potential uses of digital tools in the teaching and learning practices found in independent music studios. The project findings will be shared with the academic community, musicians, teachers and the general public.
