Teacher Candidate Jennifer Parker Receives Alumni Association's Outstanding Student Award

JenniferParker.gifCurrent teacher candidate Jennifer Parker, an Artsci’12 alumna of the Department of Geography, is the recipient of the Queen’s University Alumni Association’s 2012 Outstanding Student Award.

Jennifer will receive her award at the seventh annual Alumni Awards Gala, to be held at Ban Righ Hall on Saturday, October 13, 2012.

Jennifer's impressive volunteer and community service includes work with local literacy programs,  environmental initiatives, and fundraising. On campus, she balanced her studies with work as the Executive Director for Queen’s University Explore Camp, acting as the Senate representative for the Queen’s Concurrent Education Student Council, and volunteering her time as a notetaker for Queen’s Health, Counselling and Disability Services.

His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, is also among the inspirational winners who will receive Alumni Awards that evening.

Gala tickets may be purchased online at events.queensu.ca/summit. The Gala forms part of the Alumni Volunteer Summit weekend, which runs from October 12-13, but the Gala can be attended separately from the other Summit events.

Congratulations Jennifer!
