This open symposium offers insights into an M.Ed. graduate course, EDUC 805 ICT in Teaching and Learning, that has been meeting online this July.
Symposium participants will hear and discuss insights from course readings about online learning and from course members' individual and collaborative experience and background. The class has used Elluminate Live! for its 12 meetings, CmapTools for generating (individually and collaboratively) concept maps of conceptual frameworks for self-directed studies, RefWorks to generate annotated bibliographies, and a pbworks wiki as its online home for sharing and collaborative refinement of all of its work. Symposium participants will experience examples of the way the group has worked.
The symposium, the culminating online activity of a collaborative assignment, will be led by Dr. William J. Egnatoff and the following graduate students:
To participate: Please follow this link to the Elluminate Live! meeting for the Symposium: Online Learning Symposium. Please log in with your actual name. The Elluminate meeting is now open for testing. You are strongly advised to do the testing as soon as possible. Run the Audio Setup Wizard (Tools menu, Audio submenu) to adjust your microphone and speaker levels.) When you join the meeting you will need to allow a Java applet to be downloaded and run. You can get help about using Elluminate with your computer at http://www.elluminate.com.
Note: All class sessions, including the symposium, are recorded, but only for review by session participants. If you provide your email, you will be provided with the recording link following the session, which will be available for approximately two weeks after the event. For more information, please contact Dr. Egnatoff.
