Jeff MacCormack Receives Christopher Knapper Award for Teacher Assistant Excellence

Jeff MacCormackPhD candidate and SPEG Research Associate Jeff MacCormack was recently awarded the Christopher Knapper Award for Teacher Assistant Excellence by the Alma Mater Society (AMS).

The Christopher Knapper award is judged initially by nomination letters, which are followed by in-class observations by AMS judges and exit surveys of the students. There is only one winner across the university for each term; Jeff won for his work during the fall term in Dr. John Freeman's PROF 100/101 Critical Issues and Policies course.

Each year, the AMS honours teaching assistants who have demonstrated an outstanding commitment to the education of students of Queen's University. The award is named in honour of Christopher Knapper, the founding Director of the Instructional Development Centre (now the Centre for Teaching and Learning). The Centre exists to support, advise and facilitate improvements and developments in teaching abilities of both professors and teaching assistants.

Congratulations Jeff!
