The Alice Corry Bursary

The bursary is for full-time female graduate students (Ontario Residents) planning to do fieldwork outside of the province during the academic year.

Application Deadline

Friday, July 14, 2017 (submit to the Faculty's Graduate Studies and Research Office, Rm. A106).


Full-time female M.Ed. and Ph.D. in Education students who are considered an Ontario resident, have first class standing in the last two years of university study, and can demonstrate financial need are eligible to apply for this award.

Application Process

Applications for fieldwork outside of the province must be submitted along with a proposed budget to the Faculty's Graduate Studies and Research Office by the application deadline for consideration as well as an executive summary of your proposal (2 to 3 pages) or the two-page summary used for ethics review approval.

The maximum amount awarded to each successful applicant will be variable determined by the amount available. The amount available to 2016/2017 is $1,643. If there is a request for more than the award, it will be adjudicated by a Faculty of Education subcommittee.

Nominations are submitted to the Graduate School by the Faculty of Education's Associate Dean of Graduate Studies.

Normally recipients of these awards must be in the first 2 years of the Master's program or the first 4 years of the doctoral program.
