Gender-Based Assessment of the Regular Officer Training Plan Application Process and Experience: Initial Stages and Preliminary Findings - Nov. 23

The presentation will illustrate the initial stages and preliminary findings of a study to investigate whether potential gender-bias exist in the recruitment and selection process for the Regular Officer Training Plan (ROTP), as well as to explore individuals’ experiences at a Canadian Military Colleges or a civilian university. The study adopts the Gender-Based Analysis Plus (GBA+) as a framework for the study design and analysis in order to examine differences by gender and ethnicity. It is envisaged that when the study is completed, it will inform strategies to increase representation rates of women in the ROTP and in the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) overall. It will take place from 10:30-11:30 am on Nov. 23 in the Vernon Ready Room.
