Research Interests
- Development of educators and the development of educational knowledge in the higher education setting
- Adult education, especially the role of dialogue and critical self-reflection in emancipatory education and transformation learning
- Continuing professional education and development, with an emphasis on the development of ethical authenticity
- Alternative (educational) approaches to inquiry in education
- Self-directed learning in educational research and practice (including learner-directed course planning, self- and peer-assessment of learning and of teaching, self-study of teaching practices, self-study of approaches to learning)
- The interaction between autonomy and community, particularly the role of relationships with others in self-directed autonomous learning
