Academic Profile
For close to thirty-five years Dr. Lewis has been associated with a large variety of social transformation projects including peace education, alternative schooling, and more recently, critiques of the neo-liberal turn in society and culture. Her research and publications range from feminist and critical social theory with a focus on voice, equity, structures of power and social justice; critical analysis of Higher Education and the marketization of the academy; and critiques of neo-liberalism in programme delivery, administrative and ethics review processes in universities. Her book, Without a Word: Teaching Beyond Women's Silence, continues to enjoy popular acclaim in the area of women and higher education.
