In the Student Center, have a look at what information is available to you under the tabs at the top, and the sections on the front page. Make sure all your information is up-to-date, including your mailing address and phone number.

Access to your records will not be given to any individual (including parents) unless you grant them access. If you would like to grant access to anyone, please go under the Personal Information area, look for the drop-down menu that says “other personal...” and find “Release of Information”. Read it carefully and fill in the appropriate areas.

If you notice any errors, please contact the Concurrent Education Assistant (concurrent.education@queensu.ca).

2. View Timetable

On your main page in SOLUS, click on the 'Search For Classes' bar and begin to plan your year.

3. View First Year Education Courses (June 28)

You do not need to register for your Queen’s Education courses; you have been pre-enrolled in them by the Education Registrar’s Office. On June 28, on the first page of your SOLUS Student Center, you should see your Fall 2013 Education schedule.

Please check to verify that both of your Education courses (PROF 110AB and PRAC 110AB) have been pre-loaded in your timetable. There is no timetable slot for PRAC 110AB; it is your teaching placement course and is not a regular class).

You have been randomly assigned a section for PROF 110AB which should be considered a priority when scheduling your Arts and Science courses. You may request to switch sections if necessary to avoid conflicts with mandatory courses when your Enrollment Appointment opens in July.

July and August

Course Selection and Open Enrollment

1. Choose Classes (Shopping Cart opens July 2)

You can access your Shopping Cart July 2, which means you can choose the courses you want ahead of time, and arrange your schedule before you actually enroll. Please check the Arts and Science website for help choosing your courses for first year (if you have questions, contact Arts and Science at 613-533-2470).

Go to Step 2 of the following page for Shopping Cart navigation instructions: http://www.queensu.ca/registrar/currentstudents/registration/FWEnrol.html

Note: Con Ed students are required to take Developmental Psychology and at Queen’s this almost always means taking PSYC 100, so you may want to add it to your first year schedule.

2. View Your Enrollment Appointment (July 2)

Check your SOLUS homepage for your Enrollment Appointment time for Course Selection. This is the timeslot you’ve been given to choose your first year Arts & Science courses, sometime between July 15 and August 2. Once it opens, it won't close again until August 2.

During your Enrollment Appointment for Arts and Science, create a schedule so that your Arts and Science undergrad courses do not conflict with your pre-enrolled PROF 110AB class.

If you have an unavoidable class conflict, please contact the Concurrent Education Assistant at concurrent.education@queensu.ca and explain which mandatory course the section conflicts with. You will not be able to switch sections yourselves.

You must take both A (fall term) and B (winter term) in the same section/timeslot.
