Steve Lashbrook Helps Create One World Youth Arts Project
& Wins Excellence in Teaching Award 

Stephen Lashbrook (B.Ed’83) is coordinator of the One World Youth Arts Project in Toronto Ontario.

One World uses the arts as a medium through which teachers nourish their students' character development, self-actualization, global conscience and essential skill development.

In May 2011, Mr. Lashbrook and the One World Youth Arts Project was selected as an exemplar of the new arts curriculum in action. received the Toronto District School Board's Award of Excellence in both the program and teaching categories.  Congratulations to Mr. Lashbrook and the other project members.

The One World Youth Arts Project welcomes expressions of interest from educators and others who would like to learn more about the program with an eye to becoming involved as:

• Teacher/Administrator - developing One World Youth Arts Project partner program at their school (anywhere in the world!)
• Researcher - graduate students who wish to study One World Youth Arts Project (the project has been subject of two doctoral thesis already, and have members participating in research groups at UofT and Wilfrid Laurier)
• Volunteer - anyone with an interest in changing the world through arts education via active participation, advocacy or benevolence.

The One World Youth Arts Project was selected as an exemplar of the new arts curriculum in action.
