Options Career Fair in Student Street

Options Career Fair, held annually here at the Faculty of Education, aims to provide our BEd/DipEd candidates with information about career opportunities and application procedures. This event is hosted by Education Career Services, Faculty of Education with assistance from the Education Student Society.

Options Career Fair is for district school boards from Ontario and other provinces, and other Canadian and international organizations, to set up displays and hold large group information sessions here in Duncan McArthur Hall, in order to reach as many teacher candidates as possible.

For School Boards and Organizations Wishing to Register

Options Career Fair is for district school boards from Ontario and other provinces, and other Canadian and international organizations, who are interested in hiring Queen’s Education graduates. It is designed to be an information fair for school boards and organizations set up displays and hold information sessions in order to reach as many teacher candidates as possible.

You will be able to:

  • provide general information
  • distribute brochures and other resources
  • explain application and selection procedures
  • answer questions

Registration Deadline: December 13, 2013

Registration Fees: Your school board or organization will be assessed a fee in advance of receiving an invitation.

  • Canadian School Boards: No charge
  • Not-for Profit Organizations: No charge
  • International Schools and Organizations: $200.00
  • Canadian Organizations: $200.00

Event Information

Schedule

A 6 foot table and display area will be provided for each school board or organization. It would be best to be set up by 10:00 a.m. If you have a large display to assemble, please let us know in advance so that we can provide some extra space. Presentations will be running concurrently in several lecture theatres.

Lunch

We will have sandwiches and refreshments available in the Vernon Ready Room (A115). A cafeteria and vending machines are also within easy reach. Coffee, tea, water and juice will be available all day.

Parking

If requested in advance, one-day parking permits will be available upon arrival from Education Career Services, located just inside the main entrance of Duncan McArthur Hall (Room A101).  It would be best to park temporarily in front of the main entrance, pick up your permit, and unload equipment and supplies. You can then park in one of the two lots behind Duncan McArthur Hall by driving around the west end of the building.

We recommend the Delta Kingston Waterfront Hotel. Please mention that you are attending the Options Career Fair at the Faculty of Education, Queen’s University, in order to receive the Queen's rate of $149.00/night.
