Conference Theme:
Conversations in Community about Self-Study of Teacher Education Practices
will provide an international forum for teacher educators to share examples of self-study in teacher education, to discuss methods and issues in self-study, and to consider the role of self-study in the reform of teacher education. Through the conference, we hope to initiate and extend conversations about self-study and teacher education.

and closes with lunch on Thursday August 20.

Conference Proceedings will be available to all delegates on arrival at Herstmonceux Castle in August.  Delegates may bring longer versions of their papers to the conference if they wish.

Payments to Herstmonceux Castle must be in pounds sterling. Payments will be accepted in U.S. dollars from those resident in the USA. Residents of all other countries are asked to make payments in pounds sterling.

  • Checks in U.S. dollars should be payable to S-STEP. 
  • Payments in pounds sterling should be payable to Thomas L. Russell.

  • Acknowledgement of payments received will be made by e-mail.
    Please provide an e-mail address, along with phone and fax numbers and institutional affiliation.
    A printed receipt for all payments will be provided at the conference.
  • The following costs for room and 3 meals each day are total costs in pounds sterling--for two people in a double room or one person in a single room for the four days of the conference. The second column is an estimate of the cost in US dollars.
  • We regret that we cannot offer a reduction for late arrival or early departure.
  • Divide the double room entry by 2 for a per-person cost.
  • Add the registration fee to calculate the total conference cost.
  • A reduction of 46 pounds ($77) is available for accompanying spouses who do not wish to have lunch each day.
  • Add 25% to the amount shown if you wish to arrive at the Castle on Saturday afternoon, August 15.
