Debra Pepler: QUAA Humanitarian Award Winner
Debra Pepler (Arts/PHE ’73, Ed ’74) will receive the Alumni Humanitarian Award on Saturday, October 15th at the Gala Awards Dinner in Kingston. The event will be held in Grant Hall as a part of the 2011 Alumni Volunteer Summit, presented by the QUAA.
Debra is receiving the award for her extraordinary achievements in research on violence and conflict resolution. Through Debra’s work, society has changed the way it understands bullying, aggression and other forms of violence. Her influence on public policy has been tremendous, and in 2006, she co-founded PREVNet (Promoting Relationships and Eliminating Violence Network), a leading organization in community service geared towards eliminating violence.
