About Me

Supported by a four-year SSHRC doctoral fellowship, my dissertation research, entitled Painting a Portrait of Organizational Evaluation Capacity in the Canadian Art Museum Sector, focuses on conceptualizing and measuring capacity for evaluation in Canadian art museums as a necessary first step in improving such institutions’ evaluation practices through targeted capacity building efforts. This research direction is informed by my extensive senior management experience in the arts and culture sector. This includes having worked as the Executive Director, Programming at Arts Smarts, a Program Director at Studio in a School in New York City, and the Director of Public Programs and Education at the Kitchener-Waterloo Art Gallery.

Recent publications can be found in: Canadian Art Teacher, The Canadian Journal of Program Evaluation, The Canadian Review of Art Education: Research and Issues, Teachers College Record, Teaching and Teacher Education, and Teaching Artist Journal. I am a regular contributor to annual meetings of the American Evaluation Association, the Visitor Studies Association, and the National Art Education Association. I have also presented at the annual meetings of the Arts Education Partnership, Canadian Society for the Study of Education, and the Canadian Network for Arts and Learning among others.
