Nancy Hutchinson honoured at CSSE with the Carol Crealock Award

At the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Canadian Society for the Study of Education (CSSE) on Saturday, May 29, 2010, Dr. Nancy Hutchinson was presented with the Carol Crealock Award for her outstanding contributions to education across Canada.

According to the terms of this award, the recipient of The Carol Crealock Award should enact a professional identity that embodies the qualities Carol became known for among her colleagues and associates. Therefore, the annual winner of this distinguished Joint CASWE/CAEP Award should:

  1. have a strong sense of justice and passion for equity;
  2. be collegial, supportive, and a mentor for new scholars;
  3. engage in collaborative work that links with the academy and community (e.g., academics, practitioners, and possibly parents);
  4. conduct research that is recognized as transformational in that it can be readily understood and acted upon; and
  5. have initiated collaborative research projects that have had a positive impact on both the academy and the wider community.

Faculty of Education joins CSSE in congratulating Nancy on this well-deserved honour.
