Testimonials

From ACE teacher candidates

ACE is the reason I went to Queen's. I think the most important thing was that I had wonderful colleagues and rich dialogue, all in this nurturing and supportive atmosphere. And Kingston is a great place for artists to be. It's beautiful. And there's a creative buzz in the air.

-John Senisi, B.Ed. ACE '01

ACE was a valuable and important experience. It was wonderful to have the support and resources of such talented artists. Sharing our artistic practices and backgrounds highlighted how important the arts are to ourselves as learners, and as educators.

-Lindsay Dunlop, B.Ed. ACE '01

During my B.Ed.year at Queen´s, ACE was the most profound and enduring part of my experience...it affirmed my identity as an artist and as an educator.

-Maya Jagger, B. Ed. ACE '02

The arts provide insights into our world and the experience of working with other artists in the ACE programs strengthened my resolve to work through sculpture in my community.

As art is universal, wide-reaching, and all-inclusive, so is the ACE program at Queen's University.

-Heather O'Reilly, B.Ed ACE '03

As you can probably tell from my [alternate practicum] e-mails, I am having the time of my life!!!!!! I am so proud that this proposal became a reality and I am thrilled that it is going so well. I have met wonderful people, I have met people that I have read about, admired, dreamed about meeting and I have been on the Globe stage at least 10 times a day! Pretty awesome.

-Kristen vanGinhoven, B.Ed. ACE '03

ACE comes closer than any program I've heard of to challenging the entire person, everything from useful practice to the underlying philosophies of art and education.

ACE allows a community of varied but focused creative individuals to make that indelible mark upon each other of having really discovered something.

Nothing will ever replace 'doing'. The ACE program offers the true application of theoretical study and pedigogical analysis to what you are actually doing.
